2025 Summer Florida International Water Polo Event (Forms)


Dear families,

The information in this package is essential. Please read and complete the mandatory forms. If you have any questions, call, text, or WhatsApp us at 352-281-2804 or 352-358-4272, or email us at coach@gatorwaterpolo.com.

Parents/Guardians must sign these forms electronically before the event begins. They must review the 'Athlete Expectations' section of this document with their athlete before attending the event. Athletes WILL NOT be admitted to the event without these forms signed by a parent/guardian.

Check-In and Check-Out

*Athletes signed up for multiple sessions should either sign up for GAP Weekends or plan camp check-out / check-in on Friday / Monday of each session.

Session 1 - June 23rd- June 27th:

Day Athletes:

Check-in: 8:00 am, Monday, June 23rd, at Northeast Pool

Check-out: 1:00 pm, Friday, June 27th, at Northeast Pool

 

Residential Athletes:

At 8:00 a.m., Monday, June 23rd, check in at Northeast Pool.

  • For Residential athletes choosing the extra night stayover (Sunday, June 22nd), check-in will be between 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm Sunday, June 22nd, at the hotel lobby (Extra night stayover is only for athletes, not family members). We will have a complimentary pizza social at 7:00 p.m. at the hotel pool to meet other athletes, counselors, and coaches.
  • Athletes arriving in Gainesville by plane will be picked up at Gainesville (GNV) airport at the time they have indicated on their registration information form (flying on Sunday will also need to select the Pre-Sunday Night Stayover).
  • Athletes arriving in Orlando (MCO): Our vans leave Orlando at 5:00 pm on Sunday; book your flight accordingly. (flying in on Sunday will also need to select the Pre-Sunday Night Stayover). 
  • Athletes leaving from Orlando (MCO): Our vans leave Gainesville at 1:30 PM for MCO flights after 6:00 PM.
    • FIWP is not responsible for weather, traffic delays, or associated costs.
  • Athletes leaving Gainesville (GNV) will be taken to the airport on Friday afternoon. If the flight is on Saturday AM, please select the Post-Friday Night Stayover.

Check-out will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 27th, at Northeast Pool (unless the athlete has chosen the Post-Friday Night Stayover option or is staying for GAP weekend).

 

Session 2 – June 30th - July 4th:

Day Athletes:

Check-in: 8:00 am, Monday, June 30th, at Northeast Pool

Check-out: 1:00 pm, Friday, July 4th, at Northeast Pool

 

Residential Athletes:

Check-in: 8:00 am, Monday, June 30th, at Northeast Pool

Extra Nights:

Pre-Sunday Night Stay over: $90

  • Check-in starts at 5:30 Sunday evening

    • Welcome Paisanos Pizza DInner 7:00 PM

Post-Friday Night Stay over:  $90 (Sessions 1 & 2 Only)

  • Check out Saturday
    • Activities Friday Evening
    • Dinner (UF Dining Hall)

Gap Weekends, Florida-Based Excursions $750:

  • Includes: room & board (Friday - Sunday)
    • For our athletes staying over between two sessions, we offer room, board, excursions, and activities.
    • The Gap Weekend Fee includes Transportation and Admission for each trip. Each athlete must have an appropriate amount of spending money to enhance their enjoyment of the Florida-based excursions.
      • Amenities include:
        • Campus-based activities (Friday Afternoon)
        • Excursion to Bush Gardens “Athletes need spending money for lunch inside the park." (Saturday)
        • Excursion to St. Augustine Day Beach (Sunday) or Florida Springs (Lunch Included)

Credit Card Processing:

The Florida International Water Polo Event will charge a non-refundable 3.7% credit card processing fee for credit card payments. To avoid the credit card processing fee, we offer other payment options:

Final Payment:

Final Payment links will be sent to the parents' email the first week of April; full camp payment must be made by May 15th, 2025.

 

FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL WATERPOLO EVENT

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 

YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED TO CAMP WITHOUT THIS FORM COMPLETED AND SIGNED BY BOTH THE ATHLETE AND PARENT/GUARDIAN.

 

We are looking forward to seeing you in Gainesville!

 

Please know that the safety of our athletes is our #1 priority.  To avoid misunderstandings and to consider that offenses will result in immediate dismissal from camp, please read the following rules that apply to camp:

 

  1. Athletes are to remain on premises at all times; permission to leave must be obtained from the event director ONLY, and a parent or guardian must appropriately sign you out.

 

  1. Athletes must stay in the residential complex after lights out. Once assigned a room, you can only change it with formal permission from an event director.

 

  1. Athletes are expected to live together with mutual respect for one another and their property. It is forbidden to enter another athlete’s room during their absence. Boys are not allowed in girls’ rooms, and girls are not allowed in boys’ rooms. Curfew, visitation, and quiet hours are strictly enforced.

 

  1. Abusive language, criticism, teasing, bullying, harassment, or sarcasm is unacceptable.  Athletes will act courteously and respectfully towards other athletes, coaches, working personnel, and all other persons they may encounter on the host property.

 

  1. Athletes will not vandalize, deface, damage, or misuse any residential property, event property, or the property of other athletes.  Athletes /Parents/Guardians will be charged for any repairs to the residential complex or other event property.

 

  1. Flammables, explosives, fireworks, and firearms are not permitted at our event, and tampering with electrical wiring, lighting, fire equipment, or alarms is forbidden.

 

  1. Possession or use of tobacco, vaping, alcoholic beverages, or drugs at camp is forbidden. Athletes’ bags may be inspected upon check-in or at any time during the event to ensure no drugs, alcohol, or other improper substances are brought to our event.

 

  1. Full participation in the program is mandatory.  Non-participation for ANY reason, including illness or injury, does NOT qualify for a tuition refund.

 

  1. The Florida International Water Polo Event IS NOT responsible for lost or stolen property or money. Please leave valuables at home.

 

  1. Cell phone usage is prohibited during activities. Cell phones must be kept in the hotel room and can only be used there. Though allowed, cell phones are not required. Should the need arise, the Event Director and staff will have a telephone available for the athlete’s use or to contact the athlete’s parent/guardian directly.

 

In the event of a violation of the event Policy, Parents/Guardians will be immediately notified and required to pick up and arrange for transportation home for the athlete(s) involved.

 

I/WE AGREE TO AND ACKNOWLEDGE THE ABOVE RULES AND REGULATIONS:

RELEASE OF LIABILITY  

In consideration of my minor child being allowed to participate in the FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL WATER POLO EVENT, its related events and activities, I, the undersigned, acknowledge, appreciate, and agree that:

 

  1. The risk of serious injury from the sports activities involved in our event is always present due to the nature of the sport, and there are also risks of injury from outside athletes' activities.
  2. FOR MYSELF, SPOUSE, AND CHILD, I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or others, and assume full responsibility for my child’s participation. I willingly agree to comply with the program’s stated and customary terms and conditions for my child’s participation. If, however, I observe any unusual significant concern in my child’s readiness for participation and/or in the program itself, I will remove my child from participation and bring such to the attention of the nearest official immediately.
  3. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS THE EVENT, THE ENTITY OPERATING THE EVENT,  AND THEIR OFFICERS, DIRECTORS,  AND/OR EMPLOYEES, AND ALL SUBSIDIARIES, OTHER PARTICIPANTS, SPONSORING AGENCIES, SPONSORS, AND, IF APPLICABLE, OWNERS AND LESSORS OF PREMISES USED FOR ACTIVITY, WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, OR LOSS OR DAMAGE TO PERSON OR PROPERTY, regarding my child and/or arising from his/her activities, WHETHER ARISING FROM NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE, except for willful misconduct, or otherwise, to the fullest extent of the law.

 

I HAVE READ THIS FORM, AND I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS.  I UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT AND SIGNING IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT.

I, the parent (guardian), give permission for the named athlete to receive emergency medical or surgical treatment and hospitalization if necessary. Before taking this action, I understand that a good faith attempt will be made to contact me or the emergency contact named in the supplemental information form. I will be financially responsible for any medical attention needed during the event or resulting from an injury received at the event. My medical insurance shall be the sole insurance coverage for any medical treatment. I further agree that my child can receive over-the-counter remedies as indicated by the family in the registration information form.
