Terms & conditions
These terms cover this website and taking part in Gator Water Polo programs. Using the site or registering an athlete means you accept them.
Who we are
Gator Water Polo, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation registered in Florida, at 7010 NW 23rd Way STE B, Gainesville, Florida 32653. "We" and "the club" mean that organization.
Registering
An adult parent or legal guardian must make the registration for any athlete under 18, and is responsible for the accuracy of what is entered — particularly emergency contacts and any medical information, which we rely on at the poolside.
Places in teams, camps and clinics are limited and are confirmed only when payment is complete. We may decline or cancel a registration where a program is full, where an athlete is not a safe fit for the group, or where these terms or our code of conduct have been broken.
Fees, payments and refunds
Prices are shown on the page for each program. Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.
Refund and cancellation terms differ by program — a monthly team fee, a two-day camp and an international clinic are not the same commitment — so the terms that apply to you are the ones shown on that program's page and at the point you register. Where a registration fee is described as non-refundable, it is non-refundable. If a session is canceled by the club, we will either reschedule it or refund it.
Swimming ability, safety and risk
Water polo is a contact sport played in deep water. Athletes must be able to swim unassisted to the standard stated for their group. Participation carries a real risk of injury, and by taking part you accept that risk for yourself or for the athlete you register.
We ask for a separate signed waiver and medical acknowledgement before an athlete takes part. Those documents, not this page, are the ones that govern participation, and nothing here replaces them.
Conduct
We expect athletes, parents and spectators to treat coaches, officials, teammates and opponents with respect, and to follow the rules of the facilities we use. We may remove anyone from a session, a team or an event for behavior that puts others at risk or makes the program worse for everyone else. Athletes registered with USA Water Polo are also bound by its rules and its athlete-safety policies.
Photographs and video
We photograph and film at practices and events, and we use the results to promote the club. If you would prefer your athlete not to appear, tell us at coach@gatorwaterpolo.com and we will keep them out and remove existing images on request.
This website
The text, photographs, logos and design on this site belong to the club or are used with permission, and may not be copied for commercial use without our written agreement. You may of course share links to it.
We keep the site as accurate as we can, but schedules, prices and dates change — a page can be out of date between the moment something changes and the moment we update it. If a detail matters to a decision you are making, ask us and we will confirm it.
Some pages link to or embed other organizations' sites — USA Water Polo, our host clubs, our team store. We do not control those and are not responsible for them.
Limits
We provide this website as it is. To the extent the law allows, the club is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts serving Alachua County, Florida.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when we last did. Continuing to use the site or our programs after a change means accepting the updated terms.
